Mary

My ggrandfather; James Calvin Blankinship (1858-1903) was buried in the
Hickory Valley Cemetery. This cemetery is located in Independence Co.
There is a small, white framed church that sits across the road from this
well kept cemetery.

I was told by Newt and Jean Blankenship when they took me there several
years ago that they didn't think that services were still being held there.
But, as I recall.......Pat Brewer of this List has a connection to this
church. Maybe her family gave the land that it is on or something similar
to that?

Anyway, it seems to me that when I was first on this List that there was two
sisters that had ancestors that might have been ministers in this church.
Maybe they have records?

If your Killams were in Hickory Valley then they may well have attended this
church. Trust me, it's a real small place.

The only reason that I was even aware of any of this was I had found a
handwritten deathbed testimonial of my ggrandfather's in my grandmother's
trunk. It listed many things, several of which was the elders that was at
his side upon his death, their church name and the community where my
ggrandfather was living at the time of his death in 1903 and that was in
Convience, Independence Co., Arkansas.

I suppose that Convience was near Hickory Valley?

Sorry that this is so long, but I just read your post and the Hickory
Valley, Arkansas just jumped out to me.

Or did I just tell you something that you already knew?
