Ev
Did you realize that your gggrandfather; Ed Hays was married to my
ggggrandmother; Rebecca Jane Potts Langston?
I have a photograph of the two that was shared with me......would you like a
copy?
Assuming that I can find the thing. But, if you are interested, I'll dig
and unearth it. Anything for one such as yourself, Miss Ev! LOL

Hays....It also might be Indiana Hays. My great grandmother, India Anna
Hays Morris Melton wrote her name as India Anna on a Widow's Petition for
Pension. She is listed in the 1920 as Julie N......I checked that name
(using Grandma Melton's handwriting as a basis) and the transcriber could
easily mistake her first initial "i" for a "J"! I'll search to see if her
cousin, Indiana married a Bishop and then a Jeffery. Sharron Scott probably
has that as she descends from Henry Hays.

Bishop (circa 1868).............and he was born in 1837, but this couldn't
possibly be him. But, as you can tell from the two records, as they were
transcribed..........the two neighboring Jefferys in these Stone Co. census
records have parents born in identical birthplaces, MO and AR.
