Bernie,
I don't know if this King is connected to Peggy's or not.
This man is a decendant of Thomas Jefferson "Jeff" King from KY.
This King family came to Baxter County area after 1900 I believe.
I know Jeff was in the Civil War and in 1913 at age 78 he married my gr gr
aunt. His wife Rachel (Lawson) died. I only know of two children Bess & J.
D., senior. I haven't been able to find an obit for him or his wife Rachel.
I know he is buried by his wife Rachel and my gr gr aunt moved to KY after
he died. I was told she went to the area where he came from.
These King graves are on a little family cemetery in a cow pasture under a
little group of trees. I fwas shown it a few years ago. The owner of the
property has had little cement makers made for some of the unmarked graves
and is trying to clean the cemetery up. I regret that I didn't take
pictures. Another gr aunt is kin to the Lawsons buried here.
Vera
