Well, well, well Miss Vera (keeper of all good things! LOL),
This was some really great data that you posted on this family of Jones',
McCormacks, etc. Am still looking through the Oak Grove page that you have
recorded for all us (Do all of you know just how important Vera Reeves is to
northern Arkansas researchers?)............but, had a couple of observations
that include the Sinors, Boldings and the Stephens of the area.
First of all a note of interest as always to me, involved my Sinors.
It appears that this Laura Vickery McCormack Jones had a daughter named
Donnie.............right? Well, she was first married to a Lewis Stephens
(in 1891) and secondly to a Cooper; per her mother's 1939 obituary. Thanks
to Vera - I did not know any of this until now.
Well, if my calculations are right - this Lewis Stephens was a man about
town - which might be why the marriage to Donnie McCormack did not last
...............of course he could have died. By natural means, or a furious
husband eyeing him? LOL
I do believe that he is the culprit that MIGHT be the father of my Linnie
May Sinor. Okay, let's let him off the hook and say it was one of his two
younger brothers, okay?
Don't think so. Could be wrong, mind you.............
Linnie's mother was Maggie Sinor.............a sister to my ggrandmother;
Nannie Sinor Smith. Maggie gave birth to Linnie in 1894. By 1897, Maggie
Sinor was "happily" married to Lish Beavers of infamous proportions in
Baxter County (quite a scoundrel himself, I understand) and poor young
Linnie (Should I say lucky Linnie?) was left at her Sinor grandparents' home
to be raised.
Maggie's Beavers ancestors that I have been in touch with in the past have
had no knowledge of Linnie being a daughter of Maggie's. I am a firm
believer that all children be acknowledged and with that in mind, speak
freely of Linnie and the origins of her birth.
Bottom line? It was one of the Stephens boys that fathered Linnie, I am
most assured of. Same Stephens family that Donnie McCormack was married
into. Could be the very same Stephens man - Lewis M. Stephens.
Linnie Sinor Bolding died young during the 1918 epidemics. She had married
a widower in 1910; Mark Bolding - when quite young herself; aged sixteen.
Her Sinor grandparents had died late, the previous 1909. Along with
raising her step-daughter...........Stella Bolding............Linnie had
given birth to five children of her own by December 1918.
Four days before Christmas she died.
This thanks to Vera Reeves:

TOM EUBANKS DEAD
Tom Eubanks of Buford, a young farmer 30 years old, died last week of
pneumonia following a case of the flu. He was unmarried. A father, mother,
sisters and brothers survive. Mrs. Mark Bolding died a few days ago from
the same disease, also C. L. Beavers, both of whom leave families.
Amazing what Vera comes up with, isn't it? And the stories that are with
them?
Thanks Vera,
Pssssst...........Cora Jones, wife of Comer Jones was a Talburt by birth.
Just thought I would throw that our for y'all (See Dale? I talk a great
deal, but am a "known listener, too! LOL)
