Thanks Wilma, I finally found what I was looking for, but had to search on all of the "Eli's" in Arkansas!

I was just curious about the soundex on 1860.

I tried and got the same results you did. Then I tried exact search for
Sherril and got one hit in Craighead County, did one for Sherill and got
none . So, maybe that's a way to try - do exact searches for every spelling
you can think of.
