The 1850 Texas Census, Bexar County, West Side of Leona River, lists
Robert Adams b. ca 1828, (he is 22) in AR. He is listed as a Ranger in a
military unit. At the top of that page is Captain William A. Wallace,
Commanding Officer, but I can not read the Unit. Any Help Appreciated.
I believe this is the same Robert Adams listed in 1860, Bexar County with
wife Sarah, daughter Hester, son John and daughter Mary E.
It seems that most do not now believe that this is Robert Kendall Adams b.
Izard Co. AR. If not Robert K. Adams, who is this Ranger's parents. Some
are strongly convinced that his parents are Robert "Bob" Adams Sr. b. ca
1770 Botetourt, VA and Elizabeth "Betty" Ferguson m. 23 May 1804 in KY.
Although the above Robert Adams indicates he was born in AR, I believe that
Robert SR. and family did not come to AR until at least 1820, Lawrence Co.
Red River, and that his son Robert was born in KY?
Dorothy Boynton and I are having a lot of fun with this family but not
getting a lot of definite answers.
