Phillis,
This has nothing to do with Izard Co., although I have several family members from there and Baxter Co., AR. I am looking for Albert Madison Edwards in the 1930 census to see if his son, Jesse is still living with him. I am on Heritage quest but the Kansas State Library only has 5 states downloaded for 1930, Oregon is not one of them. Albert died 15 Jan 1948 and is buried in The Dalles, Wasco Co., OR.
Albert is the only full sibling of my grandmother, Amanda Ellen Edwards House. We are hunting for Albert's son, Jesse Howard Edwards. Jesse is with his father, Albert in the 1920 Gilliam Co., OR census, he is shown as Jesse H., son 20 years old. On the 1918 Registration card he is shown as Jesse Howard Edwards, nearest relative, his father, Albert Edwards. Jesse was born, according to the card, 16 Apr, 1899, Albert and Jesse were in Fossil, Wheeler Co., OR at that time. That was a fun find for us since he was named after his grandfather, William Howard Edwards, we didn't know that.
Jesse's mother had left Albert and she and her daughters were living in Shoshone Co., Idaho in 1920. Her name was Catherine "Katie" Hayes Edwards.
There is a family story by an older member now deceased that Jesse Howard Edwards died young either as a cowboy or rodeo. We don't know whether that is so or not.
There is a death record for a Jesse Howard Edwards in AZ death records but not ours.
I am trying to find out if Jesse Howard Edwards is still living in 1930, and where???
Thank you for anything that you might find about him.
Marguerette
