Not sure where I have gotten the information that James Everett was born in
Arkansas - but maybe someone could do an 1870 search for you? I have that
he was born in May 1870 - so, maybe that census was taken after May and you
would find him in his parents household?

Just in case it is Izard County that his family was living in, in 1880?
Here is a transcription of that census that I keep handy:

.............well, I must not keep it that handy? LOL Do a search online
and just enter 1880 Izard Co., Arkansas census and one of the first sites
that comes up is a woman named Smith that lives in Alaska - and years ago
she transcribed the 1880 census for our county. I used it as a tool
forever.
