Calico Rock Progress - Jan 24, 1947 - James Alfred Partee Dies at Home in
Cotter

Funeral services for James Alfred Partee, a native of this section, who died
at his home in Cotter, January 18, were held Wednesday afternoon of last
week at the Christian Church in Flippin. His father, James Partee, was one
of the pioneers of Izard County, having come here from Kentucky in 1811 and
settled on Piney Creek, near the present site of Gorby. Survivors include
his wife; three daughters, Mrs Martha Dilday, Cotter, Mrs Cordia Windels,
Springfield, Mo., Mrs Maggie Galloway, Manila, Ark.; eight sons, Grover of
Bismarck, S. C., James of Orofino, Idaho, George of Manning, Ore., David of
Glide, Ore., Coolidge of Tulsa, Okla., Richmond of Tulsa, Okla., Elchard of
Cotter and Harlin Rollins of Tulsa; four brothers Sam Partee of Calico Rock,
Clarence Partee of Batesville, Mace Partee of Mtn View and Grover Partee of
Reno, Nevada and one sister, Mrs Harriett Fitzhugh of Harrison, Ark.
