Hi there Vera

Their father was James William Moore (b1849 IL) and he is consistent in the
few census records where I have found him in saying that his parents - both
of them - were born in KY. I have this for a quick recap:

1868 - Marries in Laclede Co., Missouri to Eliza Jane Smith
1870 - enumerated in Laclede Co., Missouri
1880 - enumerated in Laclede Co., Missouri
1888 - Son; John Herman Moore born in Thayer, Missouri
1910 - enumerated in Ripley Co, Missouri with second wife; Lucy McDonald
1920 - Lucy McDonald Moore enumerated living with her sister - widowed? - in
Randolph Co., Arkansas

Can't find him in 1900 - and it is an important census, because it would
list later children that I could hopefully find in cemeteries - you know?
It appears from the 1920 census of his second wife; Lucy McDonald that James
William Moore probably died shortly after that 1910 census. His last child
with Lucy was a son named William C. Moore (born November 30, 1910) and I
found him buried at the Masonic Cemetery in Pocahontas - having died in
1959.

Don't know when Eliza Jane Smith died and that 1900 census would tell me
that she was still living at that time or not.

John Herman Moore died in 1938 and his published obituary says that he was
the son of James William Moore and Eliza Jane Smith. So, we know that Eliza
was still living in 1888. My grandfather; Arthur was born circa 1885 - so,
I am assuming that Eliza is his mother, also.

John Herman Moore was married to a Bird Broadway and one of Bird's sisters
married a McDonald, also. So, I am quite sure this is my James William
Moore that was married to Lucy McDonald in found in that 1910 census record
in Ripley Co., Missouri.

James William Moore (b1849 IL) married Eliza Jane Smith (b1852 TN) on April
09, 1868 in Laclede Co., Missouri. Known children:

Laura Bell (b1869)
Etta and Netta (twins b1876)
George McAlister (b1880)
Arthur Samuel (b1885)
John Herman (b1888)

Second marriage to Lucy McDonald (b1870 AR) in 1901 in Randolph Co.,
Arkansas. Known children:

Lucille (b1906)
Louise (b1907)
Lurna (b Jan 1910)
William C. (b Nov 1910)

There is the possibility that Lucy was a third marriage? That 1900 census
would tell us so much, darn it.
