Hi List,
Just discovered that a sister to my Samuel D. Pendleton also left Tennessee
in 1870, Sarah Pendleton married a man by the name of Francis Bowers
sometime after the 1860 census for Cannon Co. TN was taken. Sarah is a
second wife. I found them in the 1870 Census in War Eagle, Madison Co, AR.
Couldn't find them again in 1880, so looked just for Sarah Bowers, I found
her with her 18 year old son, listed as a widow in Big Springs twp, Izard
Co. I was wondering where Big Springs Twp is in relation to Pleasant Hill
Twp where my Samuel D. Pendleton is living.

Then with a bit more investigating I suddenly realized that the Francis
Bowers was the father of Elizabeth Bowers who married my Samuel D.
Pendleton's father James L. Pendleton. James L. died in some time before
1884, because Elizabeth (Bowers) Pendleton then married a man by the name of
Samuel Z. Dover. Samuel Z Dover was father-in-law to Isabel Pendleton wife
of James P. Dover, who was the granddaughter to James L. Pendleton and
daughter of my Samuel D. Pendleton.

I know there is some one on this list who has Dover's in their line, would
like to see what they think about my family connections.
