I did not immediately find any of these people in 1870 but
with the later info on daughter, Sarah b. 1868 in IL, I would be
very interested in KY, as well as IL. Was there only these six, you think???
Do you have contact with a Barbara Howard of Wichita, KS? It seems her
husband's ancestor is the son, Monroe above. Let me know if you don't,
I'll find her email addess, ok?  She does have Lavicy as JeRusha Levicia Haley
(the JeRusha name was the reason I saved the file!)
Have you looked to see whether these Duke ancestors claimed land in IL or IA?
If they were in IL in 1868 for the birth of Sarah, I would wonder about some of the
older children having evacuated to KS. That is the pattern of my Phillips family that
was in KY, IA and IL having come from TN. I don't remember seeing anything from Barbara Howard about the final resting place of her husband's gf Monroe Duke though----wondering now if it was KS (because of their location in Wichita?) ???

John A. Duke married my great-grandfather Russell C. Haley's older sister
Lavicia "Vicey" Haley. They had 6 children but the only ones listed in 1880
are Sarah age 12 bn IL, Mary age 6, bn AR, and Wiley age 5 bn AR.

What I am trying to find is a death record, for the Duke Family.

Thanks for any help, clues you can give me.
