Hope I have your name spelled correctly.
Information was passed on to me in F. L. HULSEY's handwriting, which I received on August 6, 1980. We had a KING round robin thing going and Mr. HULSEY contributed these notes.
At top of front page, he wrote:
Copied from "Records of Pickens County, Alabama, Volumes I, II, & III," by Mrs. C. P. McGUIRE, Sr.
[HULSEY's note: I own these books.]
Marriages are listed on page one. Page two continues with marriages, then has couple census records Information on Peyton KING, born 1795 in Halifax County, VA on page three.
This information is on the last page:
Registered Voters in a General Election -- Yorkville Precinct, August 1849
William B. COX (Do you think this might have been copied on a film as BOX?)
Silas H. COX
Thomas J. KING
David H. JOHNSTON (think one of the charts had one)
Silas B. JOHNSTON
Simeon TAYLOR
Henry M. STORY
Robert M. STORY
Included STORY because Montgomery County, Arkansas was first settled by the STORYs and there are yet many living there and they were from Alabama.
Pickens County -- Land of Choctaw-Chickasaw ceded in 1816 and Treaty of the Dancing Rabbit Creek in 1830.
Pickens County was Tuscaloosa County in 1819 when Alabama became a state.
