Good morning, All!

My connection is through relationship to Minnie Naomi TUNSTALL, first cousin to my mother.  Minnie Naomi was daughter of Marcus F. TUNSTALL and Sarah Jane LUTHER.  Minnie Naomi TUNSTALL and Joseph Pinkney DAVIDSON married 8 December 1897 in Izard County, AR.  Minnie Naomi, b. April 1880, d. 1918.

Meda {DAVIDSON} CALHOUN submitted information to "The Izard County Historian," Volume 20, No. 3, July 1989, pp. 17 & 30.

My data shows William Laban DAVIDSON (b. 1854, d. 1926, Izard County, AR).  His parents appear to be William and Emily DAVIDSON (see 1880 census).  His father was born TN and mother b. NC (1900 census), which shows 12 children born and 10 living.  They married about 1876.

1880 Census, 162 / 167:
DAVIDSON William L., age 25, Farmer, TN MO NC
Dorcas CA, age 21, GA GA GA
Joseph P., age 3, AR TN GA
David F., age 2, AR TN GA
Carrie A., age 4/12, AR TN GA [deceased before 1900 census ???]

1880 Census, 161 / 166:
DAVIDSON, William, age 57, Farmer, MO NC NC
Emily, age 62, NC NC NC
Josephus P., age 23, Farmer, TN MO NC
SMITH, William, age 18, Hired Hand, Farmer, AR MS AR

Two households of STROUD families -- ancestors of Mabel STROUD, second wife of Joseph Pinckney DAVIDSON, in 1880 census, 163 / 168 and 164 / 169.

Mother of Minnie Naomi TUNSTALL was Sarah Jane LUTHER, sister to my grandmother Fannie {LUTHER} PERRY.  Sarah Jane died while Minnie was quite young and her grandmother Mary F. {WOOLEY} LUTHER - USHER - THOMPSON - SHELL raised her.  "Grandma SHELL" as my mother knew her lived in the Joseph Pinckney DAVIDSON home, even after Minnie's death and during his marriage to Alma -- until her death in 1928 at Sage, Izard County, AR, also buried in Gray Cemetery in Izard County, AR.  Joseph Pinckney DAVIDSON's kindness and care for "my" great-grandmother will never be forgotten.

Back to DAVIDSON - MEERS.  Her name is shown as Dorcas Caldonia A. "Donia" MEERS (b. 1859, GA; d. 1936, Izard County, AR).  Both of her parents were born in Georgia (1900 census).
