Billie, Beth Cooper and Al Kirkland,
Thanks for all the help, We are getting closer, I now believe Isaac
Newton Holiday who is listed in the Springfield National Cem., is Isaac
Newton Holiday Jr., only his death date is listed on his stone, 2 Jul 1934.
Birth is unknown, if I am right that would be 21 Aug 1897, West Plains,
Howell, MO.. I took that from his WW I Registration.
As to his father, Isaac Newton Holiday Sr. b. Dec 1849 IL, I believe he
died ca 1910. His wife Elizabeth is listed in Greene Co. MO. for the 1910
Census as a widow and she has her son Newton (Isaac Newton Holiday Jr.) with
her, he is 12. For the 1920 Census she is listed in the household of her
daughter and son-in-law, George Zacharia Hitchcock and Sarah E., her
daughter in Greene Co. MO.
Elizabeth Jane (Allen) Holiday died 27 Dec 1922 in Springfield, Greene,
MO.
Still have many mysteries about Isaac Newton Holiday Jr., and his
family. Expect he may have been in WW I, have not found that, That probably
is how he got a place in the National Cemetery. He died early if the stone
listing 2 Jul 1934 is actually his. Really appreciate all the help, I know
a lot more about this family than I did a week ago.
Thanks again to all.
Appreciate the Census reports sent by Al Kirkland, Al those were of the
Isaac born in SC, have not tied them in yet,
Appreciate the Census report sent by Beth Cooper, Beth I do not know
those folks yet. However I do not believe that Sarah and Rosalie are a
sister to Lyota Thrasher?. Note that Sarah and Rosalie's parents were born
in Iowa and Missouri and that Lyota's parents were both born in IL.
Don
