> Harold G. Stroud, 76, a 60 year resident of the Wenatchee area, died
Friday, January, 29, 2010, at home. He fought a courageous battle with
cancer. He was born March 28, 1933, in Melbourne, AR to Alford and Ella
Stroud. He received his early education in Melbourne and graduated from high
school there in 1951. He entered the U.S. Army in 1953, and served in the
Korean Conflict as a Staff Sergeant. He received an honorable discharge in
1955. He married Wanda Harvell in 1955-1968. They had five children. In
1969, he married Frances Pratt, who had two boys, which made seven children
at home. Harold retired from the WSU Tree Fruit Research Center and later
was co-owner of E & S Orchard in Orondo. Harold loved being outdoors and
enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping and boating. If Harold heard the perch
were biting, you would be sure to see Harold at that lake! Harold loved
walking the trail with his dog, Jackie, daily.
