Ocie Davis
SIKESTON Mo.- Ocie Marie Davis, 85, died at 11:30 a.m. June 29, 2001, at the Sikeston Convalescent Center.
Born Sept. 1, 1915, in Jasper, Ark., daughter of the late Thomas Acie and Tennessee Burns Holt, she had been employed by New Dawn State School and the Kenny Rogers Cerebral Palsy Center and was a member of the Foster Grandparents program. She was also a member of Trinity Chapel Church.
On Aug. 14, 1931, at Lamar, Ark., she married George Cecil Davis who preceded her in death on July 5, 1979.
Survivors include: three sons and daughters-in-law, Ralph and Grace Davis and Bill and Carolyn Davis of Sikeston and Dan and Jean Davis of Knoxville, Ark.; two daughters and sons-in-law, Betty and Leroy King of Willits, Calif., and Jackie and Larry Powell of Charleston; one sister, Grace Mize of Lamar; and 16 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Four brothers also preceded her in death.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Blanchard Funeral Chapel, where services are scheduled for 11 a.m. Monday with the Rev. Elizabeth Banks, pastor of Trinity Chapel Church, officiating. She will be assisted by the Rev. John Tolbert.
Burial will follow in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be: Larry Powell Jr., Joshua Powell, Michael Davis, Matthew Davis, Trenton Cain and John Tolbert.
