I suspect that my great grandfather, Charles Wesley Moorhead, had kinfolks
in
AR. He was born August 9, 1857 in MS and had a brother named Samuel and a
sister named Sally Moorhead Williams. He married my great grandmother,
Nancy
Alice Plunkett, April 12, 1893 in Hempstead Co., AR.

Is anyone researching Moorheads?

I do not have the names of parents. In one census, they reported to be born
in AL. My Dad thought they were born in Ireland so they may have been the
first generation to have been born in the US.

The spelling was changed by a school teacher in the early 1900s who thought
we should have an e - Moorehead - when Grandpa, Uncle Jess and Uncle John
started to school.
