Pat thanks for contributing to the discussion. Since my last post, I've
found a published book which claims Cephas as a son of Josiah Washburn by his wife
Phoebe Cushman, and that when he married Abigail Woodward, she "was his
cousin". The information is given <a href =

</a>, "A Historical and biographical genealogy of the Cushmans: the
descendants of Robert Cushman, the Puritan from the year 1617"


I find it interesting that he names his eldest daughter "Corinna" (b 1822 AR)
The name is quite rare, however, it corrurs in two other families in
NorthWest Arkansas in this time period. Very suspicious that they might be related in
some way.
