Looking for more information about Madie Martin Jones, father of my husband's maternal grandmother. According to his WWI Draft Registration card, he was b. Nov 5 1897 (which age is concurrent w/Censuses) in Texarkana, AR. It also states his father was born in Mississippi.

He was married at the time to Jessie L. (Askins) Jones, but they divorced 16 Jul 1937 in Miller Co. I found this on the web since my husband's grandmother, who is a widow of almost 39 years, living in OK, never mentioned the divorce for unknown reasons. She told me he was buried in Goodwin Cemetery, and he is listed in the Miller Co., AR, Index for Goodwin-Orr Cemetery as: Jones, Madie M. 7/2/1940 - age 42and John Orr. I don't know why he is listed this way, maybe next to John Orr's stone?

I have found him on Censuses back to 1900, with mother Roxanna, or as the Goodwin-Orr Indes lists: Jones, Rochsa Ann 3-26-1856 to 8-21-1927.

In 1900, Garland, Miller, AR, Roxanah is widowed and b.MS Mar 1856, with 6 children, including a stepson, James S Jones b. Dec 1875 TX, the rest, with Madie being the youngest, b.AR. Interesting enough, they are next door to John M Orr, age 25, who is buried in the same cemetery, possibly next to Madie?? Please note that Jessie later remarried and is buried in Minco, Grady, OK, along with son, & son-in-law (Crabbe).

More info if you can help on this family, and the father of these children, especially Madie, would be greatly appreciated...
