All of my maternal ancestors were in the Nevada/Ouachita/Calhoun area since
the 1850's. The line blurs as a couple of families I believe lived in the
area very near the Nevada/Ouachita border.
In Nevada & Ouachita, I'm researching the following:
ROGERS, Johnny Price & his wife Nancy, also a Rogers, I think a cousin.
BREEDLOVE, Thomas W. and his son William Thomas (who married Johnny Roger's
daughter in 1870).
HILDRETH, William Jackson d. about 1876
MADDEN, Dr. James - b. VA about 1810, married Mary Ann Royston Hatley (widow
of John Hatley) and their children:
HATLEY, Wylie (her son), m. Virginia Capps Watson about 1868.
BROWN, Annie HATLEY (her daughter), wife of Dr. J. W. Brown
MADDEN, Mollie (daughter of Mary Ann & James Madden).
MADDEN, Dudley (Son of Mary Ann & James Madden). (Have been unable to
come up with ANY info on Mollie (probably Mary Ann) Madden & brother Dudley.)
JAMES, Mary Ann Frazier (married Valentine W. "Vol" James)
In Ouachita & Calhoun, I'm looking for FRAZIER. William K. Frazier & wife
Mary Ann Greer moved to Ouachita about 1850 with at least three children -
Ashley and Daniel Jackson (b.1836 & 1850, Conway County) & daughter Mary Ann.
By 1880 Daniel Jackson Frazier has married Rhoda Ann Brazil & is living in
Calhoun County. Rhoda died 1899, in 1900 Calhoun census Daniel is living
with his children ranging from about 20 to six years of age. Can find no
trace of Daniel after Dec. 1909. Rhoda is buried in Salem Cemetery along
with a child who died 20 years earlier, but Daniel doesn't appear to be
there.
Ashley FRAZIER, Daniel's brother, spent his adult life in Dallas County, died
about 1923.
Eager to share information with anyone having related lines.
Jan Morris
