I thought some of you might like a list of books and materials which are available for sale or research at our Polk County Library. Our library currently has six computers as well. We have ordered a microfilm reader/printer which should be installed within the next 30 days. This should greatly enhance our research abilities. Below is a list of resources. I have typed these up on a sheet with lines and have columns for date/bk/pg/location/source (that's the list)/ comment. This way when I do research on a family I can make sure I checked all sources and have a record of when in case new material is added. It keeps me from retracing my steps. I put the sheet in the family file for future use. Of course, I research hundreds of families for The Mountain Signal, not just one and its related lines--it's much more difficult to keep track of where I am and what I'm looking for. Hope this helps someone. PCGS is the Polk County Genealogical Society.
