FINALLY, I've gotten my notes out and find that my William Shultz appears as
Joseph William at times. In 1850 Tishomingo Co, MS, he was 15 years old,
born in TN, and had a sister named Rebecca Shultz, 12 years old, born in TN
also. The father of the family had been born in KY. I see no other names
that match those listed on the newspaper article submitted by Peggy, though,
and this Rebecca would have been born in 1838, quite a bit later than Rebecca
Shults.

This family, if census records are correct, had been in KY in 1813, was in TN
by 1835, and moved to MS by 1847.

I just can't help but believe there is some connection between my Shultz and
Rebecca Shults. This is one line that I haven't spent much time on, but I
may have to dive in!
