Peggy,
I have a George M. Winton, son of William Winton, married to Catherine
Shultz, daughter of Valentine Shultz and Catherine (Kennison?). Valentine
was the son of Johan Martin Shultz and Julianna Stentz, and was also the
father of Kenneson Shults. Kenneson Shults and Matilda Jane Duff were the
parents of my great-great grandmother, Rebecca Ann Shults, who married
Andrew Scott in Polk County. Andrew and Rebecca were the parents of my great
grandmother, Perlina Scott, who married John David Towry. Their son, John
Andrew Towry, was my grandfather.
Have I lost you yet?
Sorry I don't know anything about Stephen C. Winton. I know how you feel. I
have been looking for my great-great grandfather Childress on my father's
side of the family for years....and I found him in December! Sure was
exciting, specially when I learned lots of his brothers' descendants lived
close to me! One is a local phone call.
I really don't have an awful lot of data on the Wintons, just a tie-in with
the marriage of Catherine and George, and their children, plus George's
parents. If I can help you with anything, I'd be glad to. I do have quite a
lot on the Shults/Shultz families.
