Supposedly my great-grandfather was born in Arkansas, but not sure--John [J. or F.] Johnson in 1857/1858. His dad was James L. Johnson--not sure where he was born. John was married to Mary L. 'Mollie" Stone about 1884 in AR. My grandfather was the oldest of their children; Jessie Troman Johnson--1885/1886. My grandmother told me Cheatham, Polk AR. Jess's first marriage was to Carmon Anna Wilkins, born in AR. Their three children were born in Choctaw Nation, OK. He went to TX and later came back with a new wife, my grandmother, Cora Lee [Petty] Johnson. Two of their children were born there, Letha Pearl and Opal LaVoe. Know children born for sure in Polk Co. AR. There was Florence M., Nellie A., Foster Tony "Bob", Grover Cleveland, Ruthie, Walter C. and Mattie. Know Foster Tony died in Boonville AR in a TB Sanitarium. Heard Florence and Nellie both married and had children and died fairly young and may have moved to California. Florence married a Harris; Nellie mar!
ried William A. Gladen; Foster Tony married Mary Hodgkiss; Grover married Dora Joplin. Don't know anything about Ruthie or Mattie, but found them on a 1930 census with their mother, Mary L. "Mollie" Lister--she remarried after she and John divorced. All of these lived in Polk Co. Would like to fill in the gaps of dates and family names of children and know if there are any children still there. Mollie and John had a farm that sold in 1947 and Grover bought part and another man bought the other part. Thank you for any help anyone can give.
