You can request a copy of the marriage records from the county and it MAY
show her father if he had to give his permission to marry.

Did she die in Polk County?

Are there any witnesses? Parents? Etc.? I have been unable to prove that
Argie is the daughter of William R. Christenberry even though I know that
she was. Argie is my grandmother, and my father's elderly cousin remembers
her but there are no records to prove she is a member of the Christenberry
family. I was hoping the marriage record might prove that. For DAR I can
prove my line all the way back to Rev. George Vandiver who fought in the
Revolutionary War except that I can't prove Argie was William's daughter.
Thanks.
Doris
