Is anyone familiar with this book: An Index to the Three Volumes Arkansas 1911 Census of Confederate Veterans.
I have done what I know should not be done when researching--I didn't write the author of this book, nor where I found the book, although it was in either Prairie Co. or Monroe Co. Library.
It has been months since I got this information and now when I go back to it, I don't know what I have. Can someone help me?
I had written the page # 158--a name, Mary Murphy, III which I think is the Volume, and the number 31. I don't know what the number 31 stands for. Also, since this book was an index, I'm sure there was no other info.
Does someone have access to this book and could tell me what the # 31 stands for.
I was thinking maybe this Mary Murphy might be in one of my lines. What could I do to find further info about this 1911 Confederate Census. I'm quite sure Mary Murphy was the widow of a soldier, but which soldier. I have a Mary Murphy who was first married to a King, then a Murphy. I believe the King husband did serve in the Confederacy, but not sure on what company he was in. Maybe Mary Murphy drew a pension from the King husband. How could I go about finding out about this in Arkansas or will I need to write the National Archives?
