HEAVENER — Juanita N. Willis, 70, of Heavener died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000,
in Heavener. She was a memer of the Air Force Sergeant Association Auxiliary.
Memorial service will be 10 a.m. Saturday in Dowden Funeral Home Chapel of
Heavener. She is survived by her husband, William; one daughter, Glenda
Robbins of Phoenix; her stepfather, Odell Whitson of Rock Island; one sister,
Linda Whitson of Burley, Idaho; two brothers, Kenneth Whitson of Falls
Church, Va., and Dale Whitson of San Luis Obispo, Calif.; four grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.

SUN CITY CENTER, Fla. — Elizabeth C. Villiard, 78, of Sun City Center,
formerly of Finnentrop, Germany, died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000, in a Brandon,
Fla., hospital. She was a homemaker and member of St. Andrews Presbyterian
Church. Memorial service was Wednesday at St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in
Sun City Center under the direction of Zipperer’s Agape Mortuary and
Crematory of Ruskin, Fla. She is survived by her husband, Ellis “Fred”
Villiard; one daughter, Paula Jean Richardson of Winston Salem, N.C.; two
sons, Gregory L. Smith of Gulf Breeze, Fla., and Douglas B. Smith of Marble
Falls, Texas; three sisters, Mary Lou Marley, Gertie Gramlich and Joan
Greenstreet, all of Fort Smith; three brothers, John R. Nolte of Tacoma,
Wash., and Joe L. Nolte and Al W. Nolte, both of Fort Smith; six
grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be
made to H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa, Fla.

WISTER — Hilda Laverne Daniels, 73, of Wister died Wednesday, Aug 2, 2000, in
Fort Smith. She was a 26-year resident of Wister and a Baptist.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Dowden Funeral Home Chapel of Heavener with
burial at Old Talihina Cemetery in Talihina. She is survived by five
daughters, Erma Wren, Debbie Rose and Cathy Sipe, all of Wister, Janice
Johnson of Buffalo Valley, Okla., and Wanda Smith of Watson, Okla.; 10
grandchildren, Melissa Martin and Lauren Owens, both of Wister, Jason Rose of
Texarkana, Texas, Suzann Fortene and Lanson Smith, both of Watson, Rachel
Collins, Jamie Ryder and Linda Tigert, all of Talihina, and Brian and Amy
Johnson, both of Buffalo Valley; and 11 great-grandchildren.
TULSA — Louis P. Carter, 70, of Tulsa, formerly of Fort Smith, died
Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, at his residence. He was a mechanic for Ryder Truck
Rental for several years and was a Korean War veteran. Funeral will be 2 p.m.
today at Floral Haven Funeral Home Chapel of Broken Arrow, Okla., with
private burial at Floral Haven Memorial Gardens. He is survived by his wife,
Betty; two sons, Danny of Broken Arrow and Mike of Tulsa; one brother, Wayne
of Fort Smith; three sisters, Anna Griffin and Grace Ussery, both of Fort
Smith, and Dorothy Harrison of Bakersfield, Calif.; four grandchildren,
Kristi, Chad, Dustin and Nicole Carter.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Green Country.

Nelson Scott, 82, of Fort Smith died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, in a local
nursing home. He attended Hendrix College in Conway, operated and owned
Scott’s Store No. 2 and was a Merchant Marine veteran of World War II. He was
a member of East Side Baptist Church, Sebastian County Masonic Lodge No. 706,
Scimitar Temple in Little Rock and Sebastian County Quorum Court. He was a
32nd Degree Mason, justice of the peace of District No. 6 from 1981 to 1994
and the widower of Mary A. Tankersley Scott.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Lewis Funeral Chapel of Fort Smith with
entombment at Woodlawn Mausoleum in Fort Smith. He is survived by one
daughter, Linda Lou Tarascio of Chapel Hill, N.C., two sons, Thomas Lewis
Scott of Greenwood and William Nelson “Bill” Scott of Kansas City, Mo.; six
grandchildren, Anthony Tarascio of Myrtle Beach, S.C., Emily Doerflinger of
Kansas City, Mo., Darcy Scott of Oxford, England, Vanessa Scott of Mobile,
Ala., Michael Scott of Fort Collins, Colo. and Julie Marks of Medford, Ore.;
and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Harold and Chuck Thames,
Ken and Frank Simpson, Frank Stark and Ted Sanford. The family will visit
with friends from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial

ALMA — Bobby Kosier, 39, of Alma died Wednesday, Aug 2, 2000, in a local
hospital. He was featured in the Feb. 27, 2000, Issue of “The Southwest Times
Record,” in an article entitled, “Life on Dialysis.”
Graveside service will be 10 a.m. Saturday with burial at Gregory Cemetery in
Alma under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren. He is
survived by his wife Tammy; one daughter, Casey Kosier of Van Buren; his
mother, Patsy Kosier of Alma; his father, J.C. Kosier of Alma; four sisters,
Georgia Stockton, Janie Wallace, Jaquitta Boles and Sandra Reynolds, all of
Alma; and five brothers, Ronnie Blount, Rocky and Joe Don Kosier, all of
Alma, Jimmy Kosier of Jay, Okla., and Kenneth Kosier of Mulberry. Pallbearers
will be Duane, Teddy and Shannon Wallace, Ricky Reynolds, Marvin Travis and
Charlie Wilkerson.

McALESTER, Okla. — Eunice Bates Callahan, 88, of McAlester, formerly of
Booneville, died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, in a McAlester nursing home. She was
the widow of William Allen Callahan and a member of the Cumberland
Presbyterian Church in Booneville. Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday at
Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Booneville with burial at Callahan Cemetery
under the direction of Mills Funeral Home of McAlester. She is survived by
two daughters, Doris Albert and Linda Brown, both of McAlester; two sisters,
Gladys McKenzie and Lois Cahoon, both of Booneville; five grandchildren,
Kathy Wadsworth of McAlester, Nancy Lane of Albuquerque, N.M., Polly Crawley
of Stillwater, Okla., April Hout of Little Rock and William Coe of Austin,
Texas; and five great-grandchildren.

FAYETTEVILLE — Anthony A. “Tony” Di Grazia, 88, of Fayetteville, formerly of
La Grange Park, Ill., and Palm Springs, Calif., died Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2000.
He was a graduate of De Paul University School of Law and had offices in
Summit, Hinsdale and Chicago for 58 years. He was a member of the Chicago and
American Bar Associations and past president of Justinian Society of Lawyers,
past supreme justice of Phi Alpha Delta Law Fraternity, past president of the
Alpha Tau Chapter of the Phi Delta Fraternity and Rotary Club of Chicago.
Funeral will be 9:30 a.m. Saturday at Foran Funeral Home of Summit, Ill. Mass
will be 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church with burial at Resurrection Cemetery. He
is survived by his wife, Nelle Di Grazia; two daughters, Barbara Mae Taylor
of Fayetteville and Mary Lynn Robert Cloar of Fort Smith; two brothers,
Joseph of Summit and Phillip of Lockport, Ill.; and five grandchildren, Todd
and Matthew Rasmussen and Kimberly, Justin and Ginelle Cloar. Memorial
contributions may be made to the De Paul University College of Law of Chicago
or Mount St. Joseph, 24955 Highway 12, Lake Zurich, Ill. The family will
visit with friends from 2 to 9 p.m. today.

Amanda Chastain, 97, of Van Buren died Thursday, Aug. 3, 2000, in a local
nursing home. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and the widow of
Bill Chastain. Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Saturday with burial at Gill
Cemetery in Van Buren under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of
Van Buren. She is survived by one sister, Ola Matlock of Knoxville, Tenn; one
grandchild, Janet Wilson of Van Buren; one great-grandchild; two

QUINTON, Okla. — John L. Franklin, 84, of Quinton died Wednesday, Aug. 2,
2000, at his home. He was a veteran of World War II in Japan and retired from
the Naval Ammunitions Depot as an electrician. He was the pastor of Kinta
Grace Assembly for many years. Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Kinta
Grace Assembly with burial at San Bois Cemetery in Kinta under the direction
of King & Shearwood Funeral Home of Stigler. He is survived by his wife,
Jaunita Shepherd Franklin; one daughter, Marsh Coplen of Stigler; two sons,
Eddie Wayne Franklin of Kinta and James Franklin of Quinton; one brother,
W.J. Franklin of Stigler; seven grandchildren, Lana Ogle, Christy Slater,
Hayden and Joseph Coplen and Lori, Brad and Brent Franklin; and 12
great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Hayden and Joseph Coplen, Brad and
Brent Franklin, Terry Ogle and Billy Mills.

PANAMA — Harold L. “Jack” Harrison, 77, of Panama, formerly of Hartford,
died Wednesday, Aug. 2, 2000, in Panama. He was a contractor and veteran of
World War II. He was a member of the Assembly of God, American Legion Post
0222, Disabled American Veterans and was past state and local president of
the Fraternal Order of Eagles No. 3860.
Funeral will be 2 p.m. today in Evans & Miller Funeral Home Chapel of
Memories of Poteau with burial at Old Bokoshe Cemetery in Bokoshe.
He is survived by his wife, Virginia; four daughters, Dianna Fout of Panama,
Sharon Barham of Spiro, Karen Pipkins of Pocola and Nancy Ellis of Poteau;
one son, Harold of Barling; one sister, Daphine Gullick of Amarillo, Texas;
one brother, Oren of Poteau; 11 grandchildren, Harold Scott Harrison, Danny
and Dustin Fout, Kendra and Lee Lale, Derrick Barham, Andrea Newby, Tara and
Whitney Ellis and Cara and Rebecca Wickboldt; and six great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Harold Scott Harrison, Danny and Dustin
Fout, Lee Lale, Derrick Barham and Ronny Newby.
