BOONEVILLE - Carl Bruce "Jack" Parks, 75, of Booneville, died Wednesday,
Aug. 9, 2000, in Booneville. He was a veteran of World War II.Graveside
service will be at 2 p.m. today at Oak Hill Cemetery in Booneville under the
direction of Roberts Funeral Home of Booneville.He is survived by two
sisters, Peggy A. Gordon of Booneville and Betty Gene Gwinn of Brighten,
Tenn.; three brothers, Kenneth Parks of Greenwood and Bobby Parks and Billy
Wayne "G. W." Parks, both of Seminole, Okla.


COVE - Edna Self Traw, 66, of Cove, died Monday, Aug. 7, 2000, in Ashdown.
She attended the Church of Christ.Graveside service will be at 2 p.m. today
at Cecil Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Beasley-Wood Funeral Home of
Mena.She is survived by her husband, George; one son, Lloyd Self of Mena;
one brother, David Allen of Hamilton, Texas; one sister, Louise Price of
Wickes; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.



William Ray Sutton, 86, of Van Buren died Wednesday, Aug. 9, 2000, in his
home. He was a World War II Army veteran and retired from the carpentry
business. He was the widower of Thelma Sutton.
Funeral will be 10 a.m. today in Ocker Funeral Home Chapel of Alma with
burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.He is survived by one daughter, Shelia
Tapp of Van Buren; one son, Jerry of Fort Smith; one sister, Betty Honyara
of Olympia, Wash.; three grandchildren, April Tapp King of Greenbrier, David
Tapp of Van Buren, and Chasity Sutton of Roland.


LITTLE ROCK - Pauline Jones Nipper, 78, of Little Rock, died Monday Aug. 7,
2000, in Meridian, Miss. She was a homemaker, and retired from the federal
government as a secretary. She was a Presbyterian.Funeral service will be at
10 a.m. Saturday, in Roller Funeral Home Chapel of Paris with burial at
Wares Chapel Cemetery in Dublin, near Scranton.She is survived by one
daughter, Donna Clark of Meridian; one son Jeffrey of Little Rock; one
sister Ila Mae King of Nixa, Mo.; two brothers, Winfred Jones of Scranton
and Paul Jones of Fort Smith; and one grandchild Chris Clark of Meridian.



FLAT ROCK - Rhonda Wey Besotes, 41, of Flat Rock died Wednesday Aug. 9,
2000, at a Fort Smith hospital.Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday at
Martin Chapel Church with burial at Brooks Cemetery in Piney under the
direction of Hardwicke Funeral Home of Clarksville.She is survived by her
husband, Chris; two daughters, Casie Besotes of Empire, Calif., and Angela
Besotes of Reno, Nev.; three sons, Robbie Wey of Flat Rock and Robert and
Ronald Wey, both of Riverbank, Calif.; her father, Cledis Cox of Flat Rock;
three sisters, Tina Conner and Patricia Pruitt, both of Flat Rock, and
Sharon Brown of Sonora, Calif.; one brother, Jim Cox of Knoxville; and three
grandchildren; Austin Michael Wey and Lily Marie Wey, both of Riverbank, and
Destiny Wey of Flat Rock.



Augusta Alverson, 76, of Van Buren died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in a local
nursing home. She was a homemaker and the widow of Loyd "Jack"
Alverson.Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday in Ocker Funeral Home Memorial
Chapel of Van Buren with burial at Gill Cemetery in Van Buren.She is
survived by one daughter, Jane Jones of Van Buren; three sisters, Juanita
Tolbert of Lowell, Cinthia DuVall of Joplin, Mo., and Nona Coppinger of
Rogers; two brothers, Mac Coppinger of Van Buren and Clark Coppinger of
Neosho, Mo.; eight grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.



LAVACA - Marcus M. Marymont, 79, of Lavaca died Thursday, Aug, 10, 2000, in
Charleston. He was a member of Westark Church of Christ and an Air Force
veteran of World War II and the Korean War.Funeral will be 2 p.m. Saturday
in Fentress Mortuary Chapel with burial at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Fort
Smith.He is survived by his wife, Edith M. Marymont; three daughters,
Phyllis Dall of Ozark, Vicki Korolko of Lavaca and Mary Hughes of Kansas
City, Kan.; three sons, Bob Saffle of Anaconda, Mont., Marc Marymont Jr. of
Springfield, Mo., and Harold Marymont of Mountain Home; five grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.



DANVILLE - Helen Bernice Dennis, 66, of Danville died Wednesday, Aug. 10,
2000, in Perryville. She retired as a waitress for the Danville Grill and
was the widow of Leroy Dennis. She was a Jehovah's Witness.Funeral will be
10 a.m. today in Cornwell Funeral Home Chapel of Danville with burial at
Earl Ladd Cemetery in Danville.She is survived by two daughters, Brenda
Wofford of Perryville and Vickie Woods of Danville; one sister, Eudell
Stanberry of Danville; three brothers, Herman and Norman Ward, both of
Danville, and Odell Ward of Fort Smith; seven grandchildren, Jeffrey and
Jared Woods, both of Danville, Sarah Ault of Fordyce, Jason Woods of Little
Rock, Chester and Rebekah Wofford, both of Perryville, and Nathan Woods of
Russellville; and one great-grandchild.



SALLISAW - James Thomas Wilson, 50, of Sallisaw died Wednesday, Aug. 9,
2000, in Sallisaw. He was a graduate of Altus High School and Northeastern
State University and was a factory worker with James River Corporation. He
was an Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War.Funeral will be 10 a.m. Saturday
in Agent Funeral Home Chapel of Sallisaw with burial, with military honors
by the Air Force and V.F.W. Post No. 518, at Akins Cemetery, northeast of
Sallisaw.He is survived by four sisters, Patricia Kunkel of Amarillo, Texas,
Olgua Hienen of Sallisaw, Oleta Bell Schoolcraft of Cape Coral, Fla., and
Annis Kathleen Srogum of Dallas; two brothers, Edward Lee Wilson of Pueblo,
Colo., and Charles Wilson of Van Buren.

Ruby Lee Whitson, 85, of Fort Smith died Thursday, Aug. 10, 2000, in Fort
Smith. She was a lifelong member of Westminister Presbyterian Church,
formerly St. Andrews Presbyterian. She was the widow of Harry Whitson
Jr.Funeral will be 11 a.m. Saturday in Edwards Funeral Home Chapel of Fort
Smith with burial at Oak Cemetery in Fort Smith.She is survived by three
grandchildren, Matt Whitson of Fort Smith, Reed Whitson of Fayetteville and
Rachael Whitson of Shawnee, Okla.
