"Bill Howard was a blacksmith in Ash Flat, Arkansas, in the 1870's. In
1875 Bill moved to a farm northwest of Ash Flat, near what is now the
Sharp/Fulton County line. He was married to Mollie Nix, daughter of John
Nix who moved here from Obion County, Tennessee.
Bill's brother, Thomas Howard, lived on a farm with his mother and two
sisters. Tom lived to be an old man and, like his sisters, was never
married. Bill had two other sisters; one married a Burrus and one married
a Van Zandt. She lived in Reyno, Arkansas, in 1938.
Both Bill and Tom were Confederate soldiers. Bill died about 1876. He had
three children living : Ella married Edmund Martin and they had six
children: Elisa married Marion Gilbreath; Bertha married Albert Gilbreath;
Tom married Prussia Howell, Alberta married (1) Alton Hotchkiss, (2)
Williford Robinson; Vera married Jodie Hightower; Erma married BERT BISHOP. "
The only other reference to a BISHOP is on page 90, and on that page is a
photo taken in 1945 of a home economics class, and among the young women is
listed a "Bernice BISHOP".
Nothing on an Andrew or James BISHOP.
I checked the 1880 Census (LDS) and found this. Note that Catherine is a
"daughter-in-law" :

It appears that they were not in Ash Flat. I don't know off hand how far
Washington and Lebanon are from Ash Flat.
I hope this will help you to pinpoint your folks.
