Hi Mary and Brad, Thank you. I was told by the Mormon Library (I used to live in Florence, where there is a library) that when I'm doing research, I need a 'stake' library. A stake library is one that has the information handy so you don't have to order things by mail and make many trips back to it (you can get most of your work done in one trip). There are Mormon Churches closer to me, and I think that all of those churches have libraries. However, to get to a 'stake', I need to go to Coos Bay (I don't live in Coos Bay, I live in Springfield). I need a 'stake' library because I am a full time student (even in the summer) and I work two part time jobs, so I don't have much spare time to keep going to a library and re-ordering film (it's much more effective for me if I can go to a 'stake' and get my work done all at once). Plus, the libraries that are not 'stakes' need to order the information, which they need to charge me for ('stakes' don't need to order the
information, so they don't charge a fee). It's worth a tank of gas to drive to Coos Bay. I grew up in the country, so making a four hour trip isn't really that big of a deal to me. I had to drive two hours just to go shopping for kids shoes. Besides, I will try to set it up so I can visit with my best friend who lives in Coos Bay. I haven't seen her face for months. Thank you for the addresses though. I sure appreciate your help. I just love this forum. It reminds me of my relatives from Van Buren and how they all help each other. Kindness must be in the water back there!
Peace, bj berry

family history center that I think is much closer to you.
Hope you find what you need,

Hi again!
There may an LDS genealogy library closer to you than four hours away.
Look in the white pages of your phone book for Church of Jesus Christ of
Latter Day Saints. If there isn't a library phone number listed, phone one
of the branch or ward phone numbers, and ask them where the closest
genealogy library is located. Good luck!

the right word?) in Coos Bay, Oregon. It's about four hours from here. I'm
in final week at school right now, so it will be next week. Thanks Lynne!

earlier years....all kinds of strange things pop up on them. If I don't have
a list of LDS film available for VB Co somewhere on the site....I think I
do....let me know. Just do a search for LDS on the VB Co site and see what
turns up on there.
