Yes,, I would very much like the link, I will have to check the town, but my
family was from Hannover as well, however, they emigrated to America in the
mid 1800s My great-great granfather, William Asche came over with Frederick
Graue and built one saw mill, which burned down, then they built a grist
mill, ferrying a stone from france to build it. The Mill is in Oakbrook
Illinois and still operates as a museum. It was an underground railway
station during our civil war, helping slaves escape to the far north.
William Asche married a Louise Graue (his partner's daughter) and had many
children, one was my great grandfather, another William, who married Bertha
Kuhlmann and had many children including my grandmother, Dorothea Asche. But
sadly, the Asche parents all seemed to die young and the mill and any money
that was attatched to it was lost to the orphaned children over the years.
The influenza of 1918 killed Bertha and the children were divided. I would
like to go to Germa!
ny and do some research, also would love to see the town they came from. My
son is stationed with the US army in Hanau right now, I wonder if that is
very far from Hannover? I will check on the town name with my mother, and
let you know if we are related, probably it is so.
