Notes from Will Book B - - Talladega County, AL - -page 211 - - Nov 15,
1841 - - Wm. McPherson is Administrator of John Ashley.

Miscellaneous Records of Talladega County, AL - - (discusses the history
of the Methodists in the area) ...."According to the official Rolls,
the leading men in the Talladega Circuit during the period from 1833 -
close of 1845 were.....John Ashley..... On March 17, 1840, a deed was
made by John Ashley and wife to three and thirteen-fortieths acres of
ground in Section 8 township 20 range 4 east to Martin McElroy,
William Kelley, William H. Hudson, M.E. Charr, George Riser and John
Ashley, trustees of the Methodist Episcopal Church. "

Letter dated Jan 6, 1938 - - Mrs. John M. Breard 300 K St, Monroe, LA
wants the names of Rev. John Ashley's parents. She says he married
Elizabeth Huddleston, whose parents were James & Susan Spencer
Huddleston, and lived for a good many years in Talladega, Alabama. "
