Hi Shirley,

The only thing I have that is remotely close to Mississippi is Kansas City, MO. My father and his twin sisters were born In Kansas City, MO. I will tell you, my father told me many times that the court house in Kansas City burned to the ground during his childhood and many records were destroyed. (Maybe all records) I am finding a huge disconnect between the western and eastern Ashleys and maybe that court house fire in Kansas City is the reason. Just a guess on my part. I know there were several Ashley families living in Kansas City, say between, 1860 - 1925. I have no documents to support this only the stories my father shared with me. I hope this helps a little.
