You pointed out that I had mispelled Leonard ATWOOD's name.

Actually, the name has been spelled in all the above ways,
and probably a few more. It all depends on the hearing and
understanding of the town clerks or other recorders.

But I believe that Larned ATWOOD was named after Jacob Larned
who married Elizabeth ATWOOD.

Elizabeth was the daughter of Francis and Elizabeth (Lucas)
ATWOOD, and married Jacob Larned in Oxford, Ma in 1784. She
was also the sister of Isaac ATWOOD, and therefore Jacob
Larned was the uncle of Learned (Larned, Leonard) ATWOOD.
