Peter Atte Wode, b abt 1360, Sanderstead, Surrey, m. Petronilla
John Atte Wode, b abt 1400, Sanderstead, m. Isabella
John Atwood, b abt 1445, Sanderstead, m. ? Denes
John Hewson Atwood, b 1509 Sanderstead, England, m. Margaret
Nicholas Atwood, b 1539 Sanderstead, m. Olive Alice Harmon
Alice Atwood, b 1/1573/74, St. Martin in the Fields, London, m. William

One of Alice's three children was Priscilla Molines who married John Alden of
the Plymouth Colony in 1622. I descend from John's daughter Ruth Alden and
John Bass. Alice's siblings were Harmon, Oliver, Susan, Johannes John,
Nicholas, Thomas, Jacobus James, Derick, Johanem John, and Richard. The only
one who is known to have emigrated to America is Johannes John Atwood who died
in Plymouth, MA abt 1644.
I don't know how much of this lineage is documented. The sources I have are
"Ancestors of American Presidents" by Roberts, World Family Tree Vol 2 #4810
and a lineage from .

Does anyone have information concerning this lineage? It seems likely to me
that most of the American Atwoods probably descend from the Atte Woods, but I
have not seen any references to this on the Atwood mailing list. To ask this
in another way, have any Atwood list members traced their lineage to England?
