on him or is there another reason ? I am researching
the ATWOOD name and I have a William James ATWOOD that
I am trying to find out additional information on. The
information I have is William James ATWOOD born August
24, 1792 in North Carolina and died April 1861 in Laclede
County Missouri. Married to Elizabeth Ann MILES on November
17, 1814, daughter of Leonard and Mary MILES. They lived for
some years in Tennessee where nine of their ten children
were born. Sometime between 1836 and 1838 they moved to
Lebanon, Missouri. Elizabeth's father was a Revolutionary
War veteran. According to the obituary of one of their
children they may also have lived in Alabama as well as
two places in Tennessee"

Sorry Jan, that William was a brother to the other 4
ATWOODs; John, Stephen, Henry, Harman. They all came
to New England after 1634. No other information is
available on William, but he is definitely is not your
William. My database is almost strictly New England
ATWOODs, and I have not collected information on the
'Southern' ATWOODs, from NC, SC, KY, TN, etc.
I will try to make that more clear on the Webpage with
the next update.
