Robert G. Atwood, 69, of Yakima died Friday in Yakima.

He was born in Madison, Wis.

He was the health officer for Yakima County from 1974 to 2001.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Topel-Atwood of Yakima; a son, David Atwood of Yakima; three daughters, Gina Atwood-Mabry of France, Karin Van Gohren of Mill Creek, Wash., and Kristina Jones of Yakima; three sisters, Jan Loresch of Manitowoc, Wis., Lynn Grey of Pringle, S.D., and Elizabeth of Illinois; and five grandchildren.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at Keith and Keith Terrace Heights Chapel.

Keith and Keith Funeral Home of Yakima is handling arrangements.
