Hello Coral,
To obtain the remains of Michael & Mary Dwyer from their great monument in
Waverley Cemetery, Sydney and return them to Ireland would surely need the
support of the Irish Government.
I've e-mailed the Irish Embassy about their possible involvement in this
project.
Haven't heard back in weeks .... bit of a worry ... to be sure to be sure.
I know that the remains of James Meehan who was the Deputy Surveyor General
of NSW in the early 1800s have gone 'missing' from Waverley Cemetery. James
was also an Irish rebel of the 1798 Irish Rebellion.
I don't suppose that the Feral oops Federal Government can put a Heritage
order on Michael's remains.
I wonder who 'owns' a person's remains ?
Regards,
Peter
