Hello List,

I am hoping that someone can assist me with breaking down my brick wall, or at least part of it. Information is as follows:

John Lancaster, born c.1812. Sentenced 1833 for housebreaking. Spent 7 years with Mrs. Redfern of Bathurst, NSW. Ticket of Freedom issued April 1840.

Married in Melbourne Nobember 1841 to Jane Bonster. First child born Auckland, NZ in October 1843.

Problems:

- I cannot find any record of Jane Bonster, born c.1817.

- There appears to be no record of the couples travel to NZ. Why would they go there?

I would be grateful if anyone could either solve the above mystery of point me in the right direction so that I can solve it.
