Hello all

I am new to this list. My name is Susan, I am an at home Mum of 6, foster
mum of many and Grandmother of 1. I live in Newcastle and I have recently
found a few convict ancestors in my mother's side of the family.

They are : my ggg grandfather - Matthew ELKIN(S) who arrived here in 1802 on
the Perseus. His 2nd wife Catherine Wilbow whose parents were convicts -
James WILBOW (3rd fleet - Salamander) and Mary MARTIN (2nd fleet - Neptune).
There is also Matthew's first wife Mary MOSS (1804 - Experiment). Is anyone
else out there researching these people? I am particularly interested in
their crimes and court transcripts at the moment.

My line goes like this - Matthew ELKINS and Catherine WILBOW had a son named
Matthew ELKINS(born 1821) who married Susan LINDSAY. They had a daughter
named Clara ELKINS, she married John WHITE and they had my grandmother Susan
WHITE..then of course my mother and then me!

Looking forward to some interesting reading on the list.

Regards, Sue.
