John Sisterton , James Sample , William Wood , Thomas Doyle , Esther Spencer
, capital convicts at a former sessions, were put to the bar, and accepted
his Majesty's mercy, on condition of transportation, to the eastern coast of
New South Wales, for the term of their natural lives; and also Elizabeth

place, for seven years.
She arrived in Sydney on the "Indispensible" in 1796 and is recorded as

Subject: [AUS-CON] Esther Sencer "Indispensable" arriving 30/03/1796
Good Morning List
My name is June & I live near Fremantle in Western Australia
My Mother when she was alive always told me that we had a convict in our
family history but up to very recently I could not find any evidence of
"him" or "her"
My uncle had researched the family many years ago and had not been able
to find the surname of his paternal grandmother.
With the help of the internet I think I have found her
Celia Stubbs born 13/03/1805 in Sydney NSW her mother was Esther Spencer
and father was not documented but I think it may have been Thomas Stubbs
Esther Spencer b c 1875 transported NSW on the "Indispensable" arriving
30/03/1796.
I think she may have been sentenced or tried in Middlesex in 1794.
Esther was assigned to Robert Bigge in 1823 and she married him in
1823.
Does the fact that she was still a convict in 1823 mean she was "life"?
I have not found out what her crime was as have yet to discover her
length of sentence
I would really love to hear from anyone who is interested in Esther
Spencer.
I have yet o do any research on Thomas Stubbs so would love to find out
more about him
Robert Bigge was a free man
Her daughter Celia Stubbs went to India in 1820 on the bark "Sea Flower"
in 1820 and married Richard Williams.
Thank you to this wonderful message page
June
