Hi Martin
A real shame you didnt ask on here about getting copy of
this doc before you ordered it You've more or less
kissed A$25 goodbye :-) Everyone would have said ' No
dont do it' ! Civil registration of BDM records started
in NSW from 1 Mar 1856 . Previous records date from 1788
and all have a V and a year suffix, are just church
records and give little info . In many larger libraries
here, there are films of these church records that you
can look up for just cost of your time . If you cant
access these films then any of the 3 transcription agents
would have got you copy for around a 3rd of the registry
price .
In a book I have on the First Fleet convicts it says "
Richard WILCOX was tried in Exeter,in 1786 for assault and
attempt to rob . sentenced to 7 years. Arrived on the
'Charlotte' . He died in Sydney in December 1788 "
