Western Europe Vital Records Index The Vital Records Index for Western Europe contains information from birth, christening, and marriage records from selected localities in these Western European countries: Austria, Switzerland, Belgium, The Netherlands, Luxembourg, France, Germany (including Baden, Bayern [Bavaria], Hessen-Darmstadt, Lippe, Oldenburg, Prussia, Turinga, Wuerttemburg), Italy, and Spain. The years for these events range between the 1500s to 1905. Scandinavia Vital Records Index These Scandinavian church records contain approximately 3.6 million birth and christening records and 1 million marriage records. This Vital Records Index does not contain all available records from the time periods listed below. - Denmark for the years 1630-1905 - Finland 1656-1890 - Norway 1650-1903 - Sweden 1610-1888 1880 United States Census and National Index The complete transcription of the original 1880 United States census. Includes the enumeration of individuals within households and institutions. This allows you to view those who were neighbours of your ancestors. Approximately 50 million names are contained on the CDs. The names are divided into seven regions and are accompanied by a National Index. 1881 Canadian Census This four disk resource file includes a viewer disk that allows users to quickly search the database of approximately 4.3 million individuals. They contain a transcription of the original 1881 Canadian census, enumerated on 4 April 1881. Information from the following fields was extracted: name, age, gender, location at the time of the census, birthplace, ethnic origin, occupation, religious affiliation, marital status, and notations. Family History Library Catalog This CD version of the catalogue allows researchers to use their home computers to identify, before visiting the Family History library of a local Family History Centre, the sources they want to research there. The catalogue describes the Latter-Day Saint's Church's collection of family history materials, which includes over 2.5 million microforms and 300,000 books. It allows searches by key word, title, author, call number, surname, subject, and film number.
