Australian Institute of Genealogical Studies Inc. has released Volume 2 of
the Early Australian Electoral Rolls which covers Victoria 1903, Queensland
1903, South Australia 1909

This is the nearest Australian database to a Census at the start of the
twentieth century.
It is the earliest complete surviving electoral roll microformed, containing
the names of both men and women voters, and so is of interest to historians,
sociologists, behavioural scientists and other academics.
It is a database of names, addresses and occupations that allows advanced
searching on all fields.
Search on name and find that missing ancestor who may have followed the
'Gold Rush';
Search on address to find out who were neighbours and who else lived in the
same street;

Search by given name and occupation if a female's married name is not known;

Social historians can see a 'snapshot' of any electoral area.

Combines over 900,000 names from Victoria, South Australia and Queensland
Includes maps showing electoral districts for Victoria and Queensland.
The software and database are licensed for use by the purchaser at one site.
The files on the CD may be used on any computer installed at that site, and
may be made available via networking to computers installed at the site.

The Recommended Retail Price is .$A155 plus Postage ($A3 within Australia,
$A8 N.Z. and $A11 overseas)

Volume 1 covering New South Wales, Western Australia and Tasmania can still
