G'day All
My ggrandfather Andrew BROWN was born WA 1865. He married in Vic in 1887.
His brother William born WA. In 1887 he was in Vic witnessing his brothers marriage. What I am unclear on is how they came to Vic from WA. Was there 'national' shipping in the 1800's i.e.: ships that only sailed to other Australian ports or would they have come to Vic by a ship that came from o/s and called into WA to disembark and embark passengers? If this is the case how would I find out what ship they came on, what port they left from and what port they arrived at. I would greatly appreciate any help and advice.
cheers
Lyn
