Hi List,

Have any other person have Bastin in their family tree. Michael Ryan mad
Margaret Scott. Looking for Margaret's parents.

This is part of an email received.

Checked arrivals index & found a Margaret aged 18yrs arrived in Dec 1855

Can this be right if she was 21 in 1856? Re marriage certificate.

from Scotland with her parents John Scott 40yrs, Agnes, 40, brothers John 21

& sisters Sarah 19, Susan 14, William 9 & Agnes 6yrs. (CB7/12/6)

I believe this is your family as Susan Scott married James Bastin 3 Jul 1857

at the Manse Evandale with Margaret Ryan a witness.

Although I have not found a positive death for John Scott srn, Agnes Scott,

widow, married George Greene, labourer at Chalmers Manse in Launceston 11

Mar 1875, witness to this was Susan Bastin. Susan died in Laun in 1879. A

John Scott, labourer aged 62 died 11 Dec 1870 in Deloraine & John Henry

Scott aged 50 labourer died 27 Aug 1865 in Launceston. No indication that

either was the husband of Agnes.

I noted that there was a few gaps in the births of the Ryan children. 1857,

1858, 1859, next in 1865, next 1876. This child, Daniel, mother was Mary

nee Scott born at Cluan. There were other persons named Scott in this area,

Westbury.
