I am trying to place exactly where number 1 Montague St. South Melbourne
would have been . The time period is mid > late 1800's .Many of mine came
from the South Melbourne area but unfortunately the houses have been pulled
down.I have a horrible feeling I am going to be told that the area of
Montague St that I am looking for is closer to the Yarra than Normanby St
probably over The West Gate Freeway near Lorimer rd - knowing my luck this
WILL mean some trendy place has been built on the block & all hope of ever
seeing the place is gone !!! <LOL>.

I DO have a current street directory of Melbourne but from what I know of
the area it has changed a lot

I tried to have quick look finding it when I was in South Melbourne back
in June.I was in the area near St Peter & St Paul's Catholic church near
Dorcas . I walked toward the city but was told the numbers have all changed.
Can any one shed any light on this please ?
