Good afternoon Melbourne,

Thank you all for the definition of a "clicker." Most agreed that it was a
person working in some way on shoes or boots. I had never heard of the
term before.

Thank you also for the help with identifying John McBean who was born
Edinburgh, Scotland but lived most of his adult life in the Melbourne area.

I have just proven that John McBean of Melbourne was the brother of my gg
grandfather William McBean. John's marriage certificate from Melbourne
contained the same parent's names as William's death certificate from here
in California. John, according to family documents, was in the shoe
business and his marriage certificate listed him as a clicker.

This identification was made all to easily thanks to your help and
direction. I know tracking relatives is generally not so easy. Especially
when some of them are Jones and Smith.

Wish I could send some of our sunshine to you. After an average year of
rain, all of 9 inches, I am ready for some warm weather.

Regards,

Bob in San Diego, CA
