re : Benevolent asylum

>From Mary Kehoe, author of the "Melbourne Benevolent Asylum"

"I know there was a lot of controversy in 1881 because a long term
resident's
body was cut up. The doctor argued that there had to be a post mortum and
the Superintendent claimed he didn't know about it til it was over. It was
discussed at length in committee meetings and reported in the papers. Given
the fuss over this particular case, it seems unlikely that it would have
been a regular occurrence."

It seems this was after the newspaper report of 1867.
